Tale as Old as Time. A Beauty and the Beast Themed Wedding and Tablescape from Schneider's Florist

The dust has settled from Valentine's Day. I want to thank everyone who called, visited, and used our website to order flowers and gifts. We had a great holiday and we're grateful to all of our amazing clients. Thank you!

I've got a fun post for you today. You've probably heard about Disney's live action remake of Beauty and the Beast that will be coming out soon.  I loved the original film and I'm really excited to see Emma Watson as Belle. My readers know I'm a huge Disney fan and I will talk about it at any opportunity.

First up are some photos from a wedding reception we did about a year ago. The bride wanted a Beauty and the Beast theme and she provided several beautiful antique teapots that we filled with flowers to make centerpieces. Other props like a vintage clock and stacks of hardcover books were used to help complete the look. I think the color combination with the white spray roses with pink and peach mini carnations looks light and fresh.

In the store right now we have a Beauty and the Beast themed table scape using items from around the shop and some things we brought from home including a vintage silver tea set and faux fur throws.

I hope you enjoyed the photos today! We love to work on creative displays like this when the phones aren't ringing off the hook.

If you got a ring for Valentine's Day we'd love to meet with you so we can show you how we make princess fantasies come true every day.

Now is the Time to Order Flowers for Valentine's Day! How to Get the Best Value in Springfield, Ohio

Valentine's Day will be here before you know it! Now is the time to contact your local florist if you want to send flowers. At Schneider's Florist, we've been getting ready for weeks and we're excited to help you! We have a great selection of premium quality roses in a rainbow of colors. We also have a garden of other beautiful flowers. Lilies, hydrangea, tulips, daisies, iris, and many more. You can shop online, call us at 937-323-4634, or visit our unique historic location just north of downtown Springfield at 633 N. Limestone St.

Does your true love have a sweet tooth? Add a delicious box of gourmet chocolate from local favorite Marie's Candy. We have assorted chocolates in heart shaped boxes, gift wrapped assortments, buckeyes, mint meltaways, and many other classic treats.

To get the best value on Valentine's Day flowers, call your local florist in advance to place your order. Good local florists work with professional grade, premium cut flowers that are better quality than you will find at your grocery store. Professional florists also have better care and handling standards in place to provide fresher, longer lasting flowers.

Avoid large national online flower retailers. These websites are often nothing more than a call center that will charge you to talk to them then farm your order out to whatever local florist is willing to fill it. Other websites do handle shipping flowers, but they come unarranged in a box. Do you want your Valentine's gift to come with "Some assembly required"? Of course not! Do you trust the UPS guy not to huck your flowers over your loved one's fence into the snow? I don't. We don't work with these business and you shouldn't either. Call your local florist directly to get the best value.

Don't wait any longer to place your Valentine's Day order! Local florists are waiting to hear from you right now!

Should I DIY my wedding flowers? Six Reasons to Hire a Professional Florist for Your Wedding

DIY weddings are an enormously popular trend in the United States right now. A lot of brides want to save money and have more control over the process. When it comes to your wedding flowers, is it really a good idea to do them yourself? Here are six reasons why you should consider hiring a professional florist to handle your wedding flowers.

Cost: It's not uncommon for DIY brides to spend as much on raw materials as they would have spent on finished products designed by a professional.

Waste: Flowers are fragile. A person with little to no experience is more likely to damage them and you'll wind up with fewer useable flowers than you paid for.

Difficulty: Suppose you wanted to learn to paint, and on your first day you decide to paint The Mona Lisa. Will your first attempt look like the original? Of course not! It's the same with that bouquet you love on Pinterest. Floral design is a complex skill set that takes years to master. Professionals have the skills already. Allow yourself the benefit of their experience. A professional florist will get you more "look" while using fewer stems, saving you money.

Time: You probably don't want to prepare and serve all the food at your wedding. It's your day, do you want to spend it working on flowers? Don't add another layer of stress to your wedding. Let someone else worry about it.

Quality: Your Florist has access to a greater selection of fresher, higher quality flowers and greenery than you can buy from the warehouse club. Your florist also has a gigantic cooler to store everything so your flowers will be dewy fresh for the big day.

Creativity: Professional florists have the knowledge and creative skills to turn your ideas into something even more beautiful than you imagined.

As you can see, there are a lot more variables to consider besides cost. The total value includes the quality of the finished product and the time and stress you will save yourself. Before you commit to DIY your flowers, talk to your local florist. You might be surprised by what they have to offer!
