An Elegant Wedding in Black, White, and Gold by Schneider's Florist

There's a lot of stuff going on at the shop these days and I have a backlog of posts to share with you. We did a beautiful New Years Eve wedding at the Marriott in downtown Springfield. Photos by Susie Marie Photography
The money shot.
Guests were encouraged to throw gold streamers when the Mr. and Mrs.
were introduced for the first time
The bride chose a hand tied bouquet of white roses and hydrangea
A white rose boutonniere with gold accent
The bridesmaids bouquets were tied with black
For the ceremony we attached fresh flowers, fabric, and gold foliage to our
candelabras to create these ethereal looking designs.
These large vases framed the entrance
Tables were decorated with candelabras surrounded with hydrangea
Look at that cake!
I hope these photos inspire you! Visit our wedding page and make an appointment to talk to the wedding experts! See you next week!

Tale as Old as Time. A Beauty and the Beast Themed Wedding and Tablescape from Schneider's Florist

The dust has settled from Valentine's Day. I want to thank everyone who called, visited, and used our website to order flowers and gifts. We had a great holiday and we're grateful to all of our amazing clients. Thank you!

I've got a fun post for you today. You've probably heard about Disney's live action remake of Beauty and the Beast that will be coming out soon.  I loved the original film and I'm really excited to see Emma Watson as Belle. My readers know I'm a huge Disney fan and I will talk about it at any opportunity.

First up are some photos from a wedding reception we did about a year ago. The bride wanted a Beauty and the Beast theme and she provided several beautiful antique teapots that we filled with flowers to make centerpieces. Other props like a vintage clock and stacks of hardcover books were used to help complete the look. I think the color combination with the white spray roses with pink and peach mini carnations looks light and fresh.

In the store right now we have a Beauty and the Beast themed table scape using items from around the shop and some things we brought from home including a vintage silver tea set and faux fur throws.

I hope you enjoyed the photos today! We love to work on creative displays like this when the phones aren't ringing off the hook.

If you got a ring for Valentine's Day we'd love to meet with you so we can show you how we make princess fantasies come true every day.

Should I DIY my wedding flowers? Six Reasons to Hire a Professional Florist for Your Wedding

DIY weddings are an enormously popular trend in the United States right now. A lot of brides want to save money and have more control over the process. When it comes to your wedding flowers, is it really a good idea to do them yourself? Here are six reasons why you should consider hiring a professional florist to handle your wedding flowers.

Cost: It's not uncommon for DIY brides to spend as much on raw materials as they would have spent on finished products designed by a professional.

Waste: Flowers are fragile. A person with little to no experience is more likely to damage them and you'll wind up with fewer useable flowers than you paid for.

Difficulty: Suppose you wanted to learn to paint, and on your first day you decide to paint The Mona Lisa. Will your first attempt look like the original? Of course not! It's the same with that bouquet you love on Pinterest. Floral design is a complex skill set that takes years to master. Professionals have the skills already. Allow yourself the benefit of their experience. A professional florist will get you more "look" while using fewer stems, saving you money.

Time: You probably don't want to prepare and serve all the food at your wedding. It's your day, do you want to spend it working on flowers? Don't add another layer of stress to your wedding. Let someone else worry about it.

Quality: Your Florist has access to a greater selection of fresher, higher quality flowers and greenery than you can buy from the warehouse club. Your florist also has a gigantic cooler to store everything so your flowers will be dewy fresh for the big day.

Creativity: Professional florists have the knowledge and creative skills to turn your ideas into something even more beautiful than you imagined.

As you can see, there are a lot more variables to consider besides cost. The total value includes the quality of the finished product and the time and stress you will save yourself. Before you commit to DIY your flowers, talk to your local florist. You might be surprised by what they have to offer!

Summer Wedding Decor at Windy Knoll by Schneider's Florist

We decorated a beautiful wedding at the Windy Knoll Golf Club for Labor Day Weekend. The weather was absolutely perfect for an outdoor ceremony. Check out the photos!
This was the first time we've had a chance to decorate the pergola at Windy Knoll.
Another view. I think the fabric looks like shafts of light breaking through the clouds.
Detail of the foliage sunburst in the corner. We used locally grown grasses to complete the look.
The centerpieces were a combination of green hydrangea and pink roses with yellow rose petals scattered around.
One for the bar. Cheers!
We topped the cake with garden roses and hypericum berries.

Wedding reception centerpieces don't always have to be gigantic arrangements with tons of flowers and an astronomical price tag. At Schneider's Florist, we can create extremely dramatic and modern designs with tons of impact using just a few flowers. Here are a couple beautiful examples of what can be accomplished by utilizing our extensive selection of event vases.

Love's in Bloom! A Spring Wedding in Pink and White from Schneider'sFlorist

Love's In Bloom! A Beautiful Spring Bride Decorates Our Chalkboard Wall
I've been talking a lot about weddings lately.  We met our new wedding specialist, Ashley Nienaber, and talked about your wedding consultation. Today I want to show you some photos of wedding flowers so you can see the high quality design work we're known for. I don't have too much to say, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

Above we have a group shot with the hand-tied bridal bouquet on the left, a bridesmaid bouquet on the right, two boutonnieres, and a corsage. We used pink hydrangea, pink and white roses, white spray roses, stephanotis, and pink wax flower to complete the look. I love the way the color pops against the blue background.

Close up of the bridal bouquet, hand-tied with satin ribbon. The star-shaped stephanotis are decorated with tiny pearls that catch the light. Multiple stems of pink hydrangea are gathered together then we fill in the bouquet with the other flowers and just a touch of variegated greens.

The Groom's boutonniere featuring a pink rose, pink wax flower, stephanotis, and variegated foliage.

The Groomsmen wore white rose boutonnieres with pink wax flower and variegated greens.

Corsages were done with white spray roses, stephanotis, and pink wax flower.

I hope you found inspiration in these photos. We can do your wedding in any colors, completely personalized to your theme, with premium flowers from the world's best growers. Our experienced consultant will take you to our private bridal room and show you beautiful fresh flowers, fantastic vases for centerpieces, candelabras, and other rental items you can use to make your ceremony and reception a one-of-a-kind experience that you and your guests will never forget.
