Ideas for Friendsgiving from Schnieder's Florist

Friendsgiving is a fun celebration. Sometimes it's an alternative to the family Thanksgiving, and sometimes it's in addition. I celebrate Friendsgiving at my house by having a small group over to sip fall cocktails and come up with clever ways to reinvent our collective leftovers. Casual elegance is the theme, and flowers are always on the table. Here are just a few arrangements that I think would be great for your Friendsgiving this year.

First up is Fencepost: "Bright yellow roses and sunflowers accented with bright green mums are sure to bring smiles and brighten spirits." This low, compact arrangement would be perfect for a table of four, or you could get several and place them at intervals on a long table for a nice effect. Fencepost is available for same day delivery.

Friendsgiving is usually a simpler, less formal event than family Thanksgiving. A little touch of luxury goes a long way. Woodsy Burlap is a fun arrangement that mixes modern fall colors with a rustic burlap container. Visit our location just north of downtown Springfield and pick one up for your Friendsgiving host or hostess.

Ready for something a little more impressive? I love The Autumn Breeze Bouquet. This is a premium arrangement with hydrangea, sunflowers, lilies. goldenrod, hypericum berries, and seeded eucalyptus. It would look great on your buffet or dining room table. This is a beautiful design to show your friends you are truly grateful for them.

Sometimes when I hear about a new holiday it seems cheesy or overly consumerist. I love Friendsgiving because it comes from a sincere desire to connect with the people that we choose to have in our lives.

Are you planning to celebrate Friendsgiving this year? Tell me about it in the comments or share your story with me on Facebook. I look forward to hearing from you.
